Elaine Brewer was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. She was one of three children who were raised by a single mother, Lee. Lee was a fixture in the Kansas City music scene. All the stars were booked to play at Charlie Genova’s Chestnut Inn. They always knew my Mom would fix them breakfast. So my brother and I used to have a blast having them at the house! George Jones frequented Kansas City and became a close friend. He taught me how to play poker. My mom was a little upset about that! I had many influences, including; Jimmy Dickens, Faron Young, Ferlin Husky, Margie Bowes, Lorretta Lynn, Roger Miller and many more. Patsy Cline was my idol. While all of my friends were listening to Rock and Roll, I liked country. Hubert Long, who was a good friend, put me under contract when I was eighteen. Then my life took another direction.

Years went by, and music began to change. The bar room acts became stage shows. Then computers and music videos emerged. Through the years, I lost touch with most of my old music friends, except a few. In the mean time, I have continued writing and I have said to myself, “I’m ready to try again”! There comes a time in your life when it’s your turn to do what you want. I feel like this is “my time”. It’s a lot harder than it used to be, but I am a strong person, and I know I can do it. Anyone can if you don’t give up!

I have two daughters, Shelly and Jennifer. Shelly is a writer of children’s books and a singer/songwriter. Jennifer is a business owner and also a singer/songwriter. I live in southern Missouri on three acres and am married to a wonderful husband I have three Yorkie’s and two cats.
