A Fifty-Dollar Cowboy Hat

Just a song I was writing over the weekend

A Fifty-Dollar Cowboy Hat

Got a 50 dollar cowboy hat
And a hundred dollar car
‘Bout sixty cents of wisdom
‘Bout ten grand in guitars
Got fifteen bucks of cigarettes
Ten for gas if I get that far
Got 30 bucks of good ol’ jack
Another 80 for the bar

I’ll be broke tomorrow
But right now I’m just fine
I’ll cross that bridge tomorrow
Once I survive tonight
In a fifty dollar cowboy hat
Beneath the red sunrise
With a stoic disposition
Smiling like as if I’m alive

Lost 20 bucks in blackjack
Twice that in five card draw
Bought into hold ‘em, first hand
all in, cards I never saw
I flipped two kings and at the flop
They flipped two more now that’s called luck
I didn’t want to wind up shot
So I cashed my chips and I was off

And if I’m broke tomorrow
I’m sure I’ll be just fine
If I cross that bridge tomorrow
I’ll be glad that I survived
In a fifty dollar cowboy hat
Beneath the red sunrise
With a stoic disposition
Smiling like as if I’m alive

Here’s a demo of it: https://soundcloud.com/user-804172376-210408674/a-fifty-dollar-cowboy-hat

Hello Rhys,

Left some comments on this song in Tune Topics, maybe some others would like to listen and comment on your two cuts over there.  Best wishes,
