That God who drinks - Strange Song

It’s funny. Why do you always look at the sky when you think about God? We are of the opinion (very personal, of course) that we really should close our eyes. I hope no one gets angry with the lyrics.

(Lyrics have been corrected following the comments of Gary and Gavin)

May be Life is just a juice
that fills the glass
of a sad God who drinks
to forget His solitude

and wondering about that mystery
of being or not being

I think I am a fruit fallen
from the Apple tree He did
to become the magic water
that softens
the emptiness of His abyss
the emptiness of His abyss

Strange sensation
to feel me an apple
that has to maturate
before becoming the essence
He will drink later,
He will drink later,

I think I am a fruit fallen
from the Apple tree He did
to become the magic water
that softens
the emptiness of His abyss
the emptiness of His abyss

Such engaging music, as always. I raise my glass to the band, Marcus Nalgaber.

Tinkering with the layout of the poetry of the Lyric. A few comments.

I think
I am
a fruit fallen
from the Apple tree He did
to become
the magic
water
that softens
the emptiness (emptyness, misspelled)
of His abyss
the emptiness
of His abyss

Strange
sensation
to feel me an apple
that has to madurate (Unknown word, ‘madurate’)
before becoming
the essence
He will drink later,
He will drink later,
He will drink later,

Maybe Life is just a juice
that fills the glass
of a sad God (The word ‘sad’ needs more emphasis.)
who drinks
to forget his solitude
and wonder
about that mystery
of being
or not being
of being
or not being

I think
I am
a fruit fallen
from the Apple tree He did
to become
the magic
water
that softens
the emptiness
of His abyss
the emptiness
of His abyss

I think
I am
a fruit fallen
from the Apple tree He did
to become
the magic
water
that softens
the emptiness
of His abyss
the emptiness
of His abyss

Many, many thanks. It’s great to receive disinterested help from someone who also spends time doing it with such interest. Hasta luego.

Your videos are always thought-provoking. I really like the central image and the way that the other imagery clings to it tightly. Lovely atmospheric music.

When you say, “from the Apple tree He did,” I think you probably mean, “from the Apple tree He made.” In Spanish, the word “hecho” is used for both these English words, but there is a big distinction in English, so that “did” really doesn’t make sense, even poetically.

Madurated is not a word in English. It should be “matured.”

One last thing. The stress in “abyss” is on the second syllable. It’s very hard to understand with the stress on the first syllable. It could easily be changed to still fit the music by also putting the stress on “his.”  Of HIS aBYSS.

These are not criticisms - just trying to be helpful :)

Thank you Gavin. So the word “maturate” does not exist? I searched in translators and in several appeared this result “maturate”, although I have written it wrong.
I will keep in mind what you tell me about “did” and “made” and the stress in the syllables.
I am listening to many songs in English and I am learning a lot.
Thanks again and know that I have never felt offended by your advice, the other way around, I thank you from my heart.

I think the word “maturate” does exist in theory, but I don’t think I have ever heard anyone use it. The word “mature” is both an adjective and a verb. It is usually used of wine and of people. For fruit, the word “ripen” is more common. It’s also a more poetic, because it brings to mind a ripe fruit.
