The walls of Limbo

Time runs its course,
for that,
we have given it meaning and name,
and it’s that course that lately pushes me to talk about it
even when I leave it asleep,
without hours or minutes,
without consequences,
or wear,
as it happens in Limbo,
a space that without measure
is still a clock
that I know is not mine
although I live it and I travel it.

I made this song without really knowing why and trying to describe it I had to make this video. I hope that at least it makes you have a good time

https://vimeo.com/313605112

The train was going fast
leaving the night behind
and the rhythm of its sound
awoke sleepy echoes
on the walls of that limbo

the train was going fast
leaving its lament behind

and I devoured time
wrapping it in my eyes
to look for its secrets
to look for its secrets

And the hours
stretched
under the gaze of that sun
that so many shadows
erased
in the heartbeat of today

Shadows and light
fighting
while my life continues running
through that clock
that is not mine
through that clock
that is not mine

I did not know that to live we had to die so many times

Hi Mora. Interesting as always. Your videos always make me think. I don’t always understand them in clear detail. It’s more like absorbing them :)

Great video and outstanding musical production too.

I wonder if Spaniards know they have a great poet living in their midst? Have you ever published a book of your Lyric poetry? And the musical compositions, a collaboration I assume, are always listenable, fully entertaining. This one captures the ‘clock’ concept in the words. The videos, artful, strangely beautiful, engaging. You could publish your Lyrics/poetry in English, Spanish, I presume, perhaps French?

I’m going over to http://www.JustPlainFolks.org to see if there’s a venue for conversation there. You might explore there too.

There will always be another song to be written. Someone will write it. Why not you? http://www.garyeandrews.com

Hi Gavin, thank you!

It makes me happy to think that my work leaves a good taste in your mouth. Be well forever.

Thank you for your words so full of positive things to me.

Some time ago, before falling ill, I gave recitals with my poetry in Spanish but later I preferred to let myself be absorbed by the creation of both the music that frames my texts and the videos, so I did it in a different way and I do not get tired of traveling or going from here to there.
I have a collection of poems entitled Women’s secrets - Poetry of the Bad Life (Secretos de Mujer - Poesía de la mala vida) with beautiful poems of mine. In my channel I have a playlist of poetry but in Spanish.

I am the one who makes my music and I count later with the collaboration of my husband Marcus Nalgaber, a great guitarist and composer whose guitar always gives quality to the music that I have composed.

Other times I work on some of his compositions and, in addition to creating the melody, I make the corresponding arrangement to make it mine.

I also write in French, it’s my second language since I studied at the Lycée Français in Madrid, and I feel comfortable writing in that equally rich language.

When I compose my songs in English sometimes I do it directly, and given my language limitations, I choose the simplest and most direct words trying to explain an idea, an image that portrays a moment or landscape. (I consider myself a painter of the human landscape through what I do.)

I have tried to enter the web that you indicate in your post but I do not have access, it is surely a border problem.

I regret that the forum is over, although in reality, it does not surprise me, in these times that run everything is fleeting, lights like flashes that when they go out leave no trace, and forums of this type, for creators, end up dissipating swept by the inertia of what currently moves the world, stupidity.

I wish you the best. It has been a pleasure for me to be here.

Mora

Simplicity and directness usually make the best poetry in my opinion. Some people string together a few flowery and obscure words and think they’ve written a poem, but it just gets in the way of what matters - the meaning, the thoughts it evokes, the rhythm and sound.

Is your French language writing online somewhere? I’ve been about 75% of the way through writing a song in French for ages. Unfortunately, it’s a humorous one, and I’m never quite satisfied with it. I think humor requires a greater precision in the choice of words and their combination than any other genre.
