Need some equipment advice…

Oct 05, 2004, 03:44 PM

I am just starting out as a Producer\sonwriter.  I bought a Fantom S88 about 6 months ago and recently purchased an MBox(protools) and a nice microphone.

I want to complete my mini studio so I can finish some songs, but I don’t know what else I will need.  I am in the process of checking out some books on this but with work I haven’t had much time.  Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Just to let you know…  I am producing R&B, Hip Hop, Rap, Pop and possibly some jazz, but mainly R&B and hip hop.  thanks.

Hey Jermaine,
The basics usually needed for recording is just a mixer, and a good mic.
I am sure your software will have all of the effects you need. So, all you really need to do is make sure the sound going into your software is of the best quality possible, which can be achieved with a good mixer, and mic. Hope that helps you.
