Hey LeeAndrew - I really appreciate you checking this piece out, always good to see you, too. I hit on a lot of what you’ve shared in my responses to J.D. and Tom Solanto, so you might want to check those out. The piece really isn’t about 1972, but rather being 4 years old - it’s about innocence, and to me, that transcends cultural/temporal references. I do understand what you’re saying and I don’t disagree with it, though. I could have picked a title/hook that connected with the underlying theme in a more obvious way…but with this particular thematic vehicle, that’s been done so much, I just hated to do it again lol, so I went with something more subtle that required a bit of digging - perhaps too much? :-) Thinking about what everybody has said here, the piece clearly needs to be worked on a tad more…I think the answer is rewriting the bridge - the bridge I went with was pretty much the stereo-typical “one-size-fits-all/easy-fit”...having read these posts, though, I’m feeling something a bit more meaningful now, though. Thanks for taking the time to check it out - sure is good seeing you around, too :-)
