“Hey, cats, I wanna say thank you…yeah, thank you, jack, for the bread, man. I mean, if all I…gotta do is interpret a little Moby #### for you, man, like, lay it on you how it came down on me…which is probably exactly like it came down on you…in the first place…well, for 900 big ones, I can lay it down again…only in my style. I got the cadence…I know what an allegory is. I been to Appalachia…and listened to what Lead Belly was really saying…And here it comes…”

Two iconic, revered, sainted artists I just never got; The Dead and Dylan.

No offense intended, just a little fun at Bob’s expense, and THANKS for the link. I had no idea that much money was awarded.

I think he’s one of the great lyricists in the American canon. He runs the gamut from stuff you scratch your head figuring out to simple, direct lines like ‘If there’s a poor boy on the street, you can let him have my seat…’

The fact that he’s a ‘lousy’ singer and musician (debateable) only adds to his charm.

I also enjoyed Chronicles, Part 1…

‘Charlie Christian got me in a world of trouble’—-me
