Play For Publishers: A Barbara Cloyd Songwriting Workshop

Aug 11, 2017, 03:37 AM

October 12th-14th. Apply by September 3rd at

I’ve always thought this was an interesting avenue into the business. If you have product, as a Songwriter, or talent, as an artist, and aspire to the market, it might be of interest to you. Here’s the text of the email I got.

Writers interested in getting cuts in the Nashville country market are invited to apply. Sixteen will be selected to play one song each day (live or a recording) and get feedback from two publishers. Those who are not selected can attend at a reduced fee to network and learn.

In addition there is a class studying hit songs, a performance and Q&A with pro songwriters and a chance to attend and/or perform at an open mic.

Learn what it takes to get a cut from people who get them
  Meet other talented writers.
Get heard by six publishers who sign staff writers and pitch to the top artists.
