Thru Children’s eyes
Verse
Wish I had a blue Crayola
To color this grey old sky.
Wish I had a green Crayola
The grass looks awfully dry.
I’d paint a beautiful picture.
Put it on the fridge’s door.
If I could see thru children’s eyes
I wouldn’t feel sad no more.
Pre-chorus
They know no lies.
Need no disguise.
Those innocent eyes.
Chorus
Wish I had a box full of colors
I’d draw a bright rainbow.
A palette of beautiful flowers
Unlike the world I know.
Wish I had the kind of innocence
That little children do.
I wish that I could still see the world
As if it were new.
Verse
Wish I had a red Crayola
I’d make me a blooming rose.
Wish I had an orange Crayola
There’d be fresh fruit in the grove.
Wish I had a yellow crayon
To color this drab old sun.
Wish I wasn’t thirty years old.
And holding a loaded gun.
Pre-chorus
They know no lies.
Need no disguise.
Those innocent eyes.
Chorus
Wish I had a box full of colors
I’d draw a bright rainbow.
A palette of beautiful flowers
Unlike the world I know.
Wish I had the kind of innocence
That little children do.
I wish that I could still see the world
As if it were new.
Bridge
What a beautiful world it could be
If we saw it thru children’s eyes.
Not colored by hate and anger
The fruits of our demise.
