I am currently collaborating a song with someone and I am focusing on the advice given to me on this forum. So the question is ,
Can I split the second chorus in 1/2 using the 1st half before the bridge and the 2nd 1/2 after the bridge. Once this was done then I would go into the Coda. Normally the chorus is the same. Example of the question song structure below.

Verse 1

Chorus

Verse 2

1st half of chorus
Bridge                   <—————————Is this structure acceptable
2nd half of chorus

Coda

” I’m just a guy with a Guitar”

I think it was Duke Ellington who said, “If it SOUNDS good, it IS good.”

If it works, it works. Only hearing it would enable me to make a judgment. It isn’t a straight-up, usual structure, but maybe a change-up is engaging to the listener. Maybe this particular Song can pull it off. It might not work on every Song, but on this one, it does.

There will always be another song to be written. Someone will write it. Why not you? http://www.garyeandrews.com
