( genre = country rock )

( title= Hallelujah )

( entry music )

never thought too much about it
i never had too much to say

read the bible while i stumble
hoping that , my soul can be saved

reading the books of the bible
just stumble along as i pray

blaming jesus of nazareth
for all the mistakes i made

  and i sing a hallelujah
  (music)
  and i sing a hallelujah

( music )

just kneeling down in the temple
before the altar and i pray

asking god for his forgiveness
i know somehow i have to pay

he resides up in the heavens
like a beacon he always shines

and i hope that my , soul is saved
i take a sip of holy wine

  and i sing a hallelujah
  (music)
  and i sing a hallelujah

( music )

and the empty church i ponder
i wonder if i might be saved

and just kneeling at the altar
somehow living got in the way

here to ask for my forgiveness
and kneeling down i start to pray

blaming jesus of nazareth
for all the mistakes i made

  and i sing a hallelujah
  (music)
  and i sing a hallelujah

( exit music )

Hi Albert,

I do not too well commenting on the song structure of other people’s lyrics , but I love the overall sentiment of the lyric that you have written. There are lots of feelings behind the words and lots of thoughts behind the feelings. The only line that I have a problem with is the following:

blaming Jesus of Nazareth
for all the mistakes i made

I understand what you are trying to say. That Jesus took all the sins of the world on his shoulders for us. But I wouldn’t say it’s 100% accurate to say that you’re blaming Jesus, for his sacrifice saved you. I would change the wording of that line. Perhaps, I am nit-picking and I am sorry for that. Good Luck with your lyric.

Humans are just robots running a program that the lord put into your soul.
Thats how the lord knows your every move and thought and knows your future..

So if you commit a sin.
You can just blame the lord for putting the program into you.

That’s an interesting theory Albert, but not very Biblical I’m afraid…..... Read Romans 13. Free will
is both a blessing and a curse my friend :)

Albert,

I am trying to be nice to you but you make it very hard to believe that you believe what you said. But, in any case I’ll pretend that I never posted anything about your lyric.

blaming jesus of nazareth
for all the mistakes that i’ve made

to

asking jesus for forgivness
for all the mistakes that i’ve made

I’m waiting for Nashville Song Service to accept it for demo ,(they’re closed till the Monday after next) ,  they might also want it changed, we’ll see..

Who is “Nashville Song Service”? And what do you mean “to accept it for demo”?

@JAYPOV

Nashville Song Service , is a demo company i work with..

Email = .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

You have to submit a lyric and a MP3 of you trying to sing it , as attachments to the email.
The lady that answers the emails is named Rachel..

She looks over the lyric and listens to the MP3 and judges it..
She uses several criteria to weed out the bad submissions..

If she thinks the song has potential , she’ll email you back , to let you know it was accepted for demo.
If its accepted for demo , she will email you an invoice and a contract , for you to choose what package you’d like.
I always choose the $375 , 5 piece band demo.  (they have a $249 , 1 piece band demo , acoustic guitar or piano)

Then it can take 10 to 12 weeks for them to email you the finished MP3.

Then they try to promote your finished MP3 to record labels , and some individual artists that use NSS to scope for new songs.

Romans 13 is wrong…
Jesus told his disciple
“you will denounce me 3 times before the #### crows”
So there was no free will , the future was already written and know by Jesus
It’s in the Indian religions know as fate ( future already written and know by the gods and angels. )

Well Albert…....., if any god can tell the future, and every man is bound by fate, then what did
Jesus accomplish? What is the point of redemption and forgiveness? Why have greater minds
than ours even bothered to ponder this for thousands of years lol? Don’t fall into the fate trap
my friend, prophecy is the proof of God’s word. “We” are not gods. God knows what we don’t.
Fate is just an excuse to give up!
I hope you don’t think I’m badgering you on this…. You’re definitely posing all the right
questions. But you should know, if even one part of the Bible is wrong then the whole book is
wrong. There’s a reason greater minds than ours have debated this for thousands of years.
Some get it…... some don’t :)

Is Albert being taken for a ride by Nashville Song Service attributable to predestination or the exercise of his free will? I’m no expert on theology but it seems to me there is something not quite right about what is happening here?

Perhaps Albert is just poking fun at Christians…. “sitting in an empty church drinking holy wine and
blaming Jesus” sounds like a modern country song to me lol! :)

I’d say your post right above Gavin’s has the right of it Tony. Couldnt have put it better myself. Right on Man. : )

As regards the lyrics, just goes to show how much the wording and phrasing can change the entire tone of a song. Its a simple thing, but very important.

Albert,

The following part of the verse that you substituted will be correct. People of that belief system are wiser than to accept the original version.

asking jesus for forgivness
for all the mistakes that i’ve made

Albert you are wrong making the statement that since the future is already set that therefore, we are all mindless robots.

God’s foreknowledge could be likened to a motion picture. If we watch a movie we see the frames in sequence, so it looks as if Act 2 follows Act 1 and Act 3 follows Act 2. We see what looks like consecutive action. But if you were to take that same piece of film and hang it up on the wall, you could see the end, the beginning, and the middle all at once. You really would not have to control the action in order to see what was going to happen. In an imperfect sense this illustrates how God’s foreknowledge and our free will can coexist.
