Eden’s up for sale
Verse
There are sapphire colored waters
Around the emerald isle.
It’s the last Eden left on earth
That man has not defiled.
Chorus
The gate’s been busted open.
They’ve got Eden up for sale.
They’ve rounded up the angels
And are putting them in jail.
They got Eden, got Eden,
They got Eden up for sale.
Verse
Like a child in mind not body.
She’s beauty to behold.
She’s a child of Mother Nature
Like none that man has known.
Chorus
The gate’s been busted open.
They’ve got Eden up for sale.
They’ve rounded up the angels
And are putting them in jail.
They got Eden, got Eden,
They got Eden up for sale.
Bridge
Hey paradise they’ve found you.
So your secret is no more.
They’re raping Mother Nature.
Gonna make her child a #####.
Hey paradise they’ve found you.
So your secret is no more.
Verse
There are graphite colored highways
Throughout the resort town.
A sign says Starbucks for sale.
Hurry in and get yours now.
Chorus
The gate’s been busted open.
They’ve got Eden up for sale.
They’ve rounded up the angels
And are putting them in jail.
They got Eden, got Eden,
They got Eden up for sale.
Tag

What a fine piece of art!

I love it how you set up the contrast in the verses 1 and 3 (“sapphire colored waters” versus “graphite colored highways”) and manage to insert a second hook using the bridge (and tag). Another great idea is picking up the image of mother nature and her child in the bridge. Wonderfully rounded out lyrics that should work brilliantly in a song, intriguing the casual listener without revealing how they do it.

Cheers,
Bernd

Thanks Bernd. Wish I could find more musicians and singers to work with. I have too many good lyrics that haven’t found a a home in a song.
