Privacy Policy

SONGWRITER 101 was officially launched in April of 2004 in an effort to provide America’s songwriters with a resource focused exclusively on the art and business of their craft.

Who We Are

SONGWRITER 101 is owned and maintained by Broadcast Music, Inc. (“BMI”), a U.S. performing rights organization headquartered in New York with offices in Atlanta, London, Los Angeles, Miami, and Nashville.  Our New York office is located at 320 West 57th Street, New York, NY 10019.  You can reach us by telephone at 212-586-2000.

SONGWRITER 101, however, is NOT about BMI (we’ve already got our own web site, which we encourage you to visit if you’re interested in having us represent your public performing right).  SONGWRITER 101 is about you, and we’ve gone to great lengths to assemble a network of core sponsors and contributors to bring you unbiased information and advice about your life as a songwriter in America today.

We will post contact information for any new core sponsors / contributors as we bring them in.  All core sponsors / contributors respect your privacy and have agreed to comply with all applicable federal and state laws regarding the use of personally identifiable information.
